So cool to see that others appreciated their "Cheetahs" as much as I did growing up. I'd kill to find one of these for my 3 year-old son now. I've got a photo of my cheetah from my childhood and will send but I need your email address. Could not find it anywhere here on the site. Great blog man, fun to reminisce a bit!

So happy to have found this site. I had one in the mid-70s in Chicago suburbs and loved blowing away the big wheels and green machines. Wish I still had it for my now 2-year-old son.

I will like to study there mechanics for reproduction. If any body has one in good working condition or in a condition to measure for design and will like to sell it, please contact me.

I had and loved my cheetah! It was the best! I only wish that my parents had kept it (they kept everything else) we had as kids. My son would love it. Has anyone been able to locate one?

It was the best toy ever! I have brought up in conversation to my husband on how fast it went...he doesn't understand and thinks i'm crazy! Wish I could have an adult version now...LOL!

I remember being in Toronto, Canada probably back in 1974-ish and going down the parking ramp at the building on one of these puppies. It was the fall and I was wearing mitts. Of course being the cool kid that I was, I dropped one hand and was steering solo handed, unfortunately I almost ended up hans solo'd....the mitten on the dropped hand went under the rear tire of the Cheetah and I dragged the back of my hand as a brake as I raced down the hill. I can see the scars by the light of my laptop monitor as I type this. Good times, good times.

Had a Cheetah, the only one in the neighborhood, way fast. I met up An old friend the other day and that was one of the first things he asked about. So it got me thinking about mine so I looked it up and was surprised to find this great site. That was a great ride and would hunt down big wheels no problem. Great page. I love the pic of the brothers looking for big wheels. The ratchet posi rear was the key.

My dad worked for Leisure Dynamics in Toronto and we had a couple of these. We were the tester kids for all the new toys! We still have one in the garage....probably the only one left!

I was the only kid on the block with one of these in Maryland in 1976, after breaking countless big wheels dad but the bullet and got me the cheetah... A real mover. I used to trade candy and quarters for rides.

My dad worked for Lakeside/Leisure Dynamics from the late 50's to late 70's, so I grew up with every single one of the toys they produced and many that never even hit the market. The Cheetah was one of my favorites! It, and I ran circles around every Big Wheel on the block!! Wish I had some pictures to share, but thanks for the memories!
